IWC OPEN MIC

The Open Mic is the centre of IWC’s programming and has been offered for 16 years in Kelowna. Typically, events happen on two Thursdays of every month from September through April at BNA Burger.

The Open Mic has long been a safe haven and testing ground for the many incredibly talented poets, musicians, and artists we have living in and visiting Kelowna. Our Open Mic is a dedicated educational space for artists from all backgrounds and skill levels to put their work out into the world to a receptive, encouraging, and inclusive audience.

Hosted two Thursdays a month at our ‘home’ venue, BNA Burger, in the downtown core of Kelowna, BC. BNA Burger offers a minor-friendly environment and serves food and drinks. The space is wheelchair accessible and has single-stall, gender neutral and wheelchair accessible bathrooms.

Doors and sign up open at 6:30pm. There is a $6 - $10 pay what you can entry, with no one turned away at the door for lack of funds. Sign ups are first come, first served, and in high demand, so if you want to read, make sure to mark your calendars and come early. If early arrival for sign up is inaccessible to you, please contact us directly.
