Episode 12

It is always a special feeling in studio when we feature one of the Inspired Word Café collective. A person, who is an integral piece to the success of our show, Jessica Laplante. On the surface, Jessica’s soft-spoken spirit and gentle smile that invites you to join her for chat and a cup of tea. Beneath the surface beats the heart of a poet, whose voice has taken flight through her words of love and courage. Jessica courageously overcame her nervousness, reciting four of her original pieces followed by her time in the hot seat being interview by our own Erin Scott in a ‘featured moment with Erin’. Along with Jessica’s stellar performance, on the mic were invited guests poet Cole Mash and writer Connal McNamara who both captured the audience imagination with words that painted landscapes of colourful and gripping memories. Our gratitude goes out to our supportive audience and friends who continue to encourage great poetry and inspirational storytelling. Episode 14

Mark Bertolutti, our featured performer for episode 14, is no stranger to the inspired word cafe family. Mark faithfully continues to inspire our audience with his poetic celebration of his life experiences. His sparse use of words adeptly reflects complex subject matter in haiku-like style. Mark’s rapid-fire delivery of words engaged the Inspired Word Café audience with an invitation to be present in the practice of empathetic listening. Mark’s presence speaks to his strength as a man and as a friend to the Inspired Word Café. It was a night of great entertainment as all in attendance were treated to the uplifting Indie Experimental Mermaid Dream-Pop music of Syren + the Waves.  Visit our Facebook page for more photos of this show and past shows.
