UBCO vs IWC 'Battle On the Hill' Poetry Slam

In September 2015, IWC held our first poetry slam event at Kelowna Heritage Museum as part of Kelowna Culture Days. The event was a huge success, with over 75 people showing up and some serious poetry being thrown down! Check out some of the videos from our last show here, with the winner of the slam event Luqman Wayne Smith plus others on our youtube channel!

Since then, we have been busy at work planning another specialty poetry slam event. This time, we challenged UBCO to a battle of words up on their home turf. Poetry slam events are a three round, competitive gathering of poets. Five audience members are selected at random and given the power to judge the poets based on their words and performance based on a point system from 0 to 10. The highest and lowest scores are dropped for a total end score out of 30. The top ranking poets move on to the next round as they compete for poetic dominance! Who can play the crowd the best, and who will be victorious in this epic battle on the hill?
